🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Express Frustration About Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Before the change, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
